life. LOVE. art.

A few summers ago (geez, where does the time go?) I went to the beach with a few friends and we took this picture together. We all made the letters with our fingers and one by one quickly snapped the shot. LOVE is such a huge word. What does that word mean to you? To me it means commitment. Even when it doesn't feel good. I feel that I'm a truly loyal person and a tender-hearted person who may overanalyze things at times (sorry to those who know me best) and at times that comes at a cost because I get hurt easily.
LOVE isn't just that butterfly feeling (that just like the butterfly flitters in and out of your conciousness) that hollywood shows us when a guy meets a girl or vice versa. For me LOVE goes beyond the surface and into the realm of "no matter what". For me personally in my marriage, commitment is sometimes hard but when you stick things out you find that you end up getting that "butterfly" feeling again. Love is really powerful - in marriage, friendships, family, etc.
I was just telling a friend this morning that it would be amazing to live in a world where you didn't have to watch your back so much and you could just truly let your guard down with everyone and know that they wouldn't hurt you in the end. But that's my naivete speaking. Humble, contrite and true it's good to know that despite it all, LOVE is worth the pain it can sometimes cause because it does win in the end.

I hear ya! I don't believe that 'love is all you need'. It's more like "Loving enough to put that love into action as much as is humanly possible, setting aside yourself and putting those you claim to love first is all you need." hahaha But that doesn't really work as a song lyric!

It's strange, or maybe not at all, but the time I feel the most loved, and this is going back as long as I can remember, is on Good Friday. "No greater love" right? Every year I'm a blubbering mess - no matter how cheesy a video may be shown, haha. That is the one time I can count on to feel God like He's in my bones.
